Project Insights: Siemens Headquarters’ Workspace Storage Solutions

Siemens New Way of Working, with Hollman Workspace Lockers

INTRODUCTION

The team at Siemens was interested in creating a modern office for their employees. Siemens headquarters chose Hollman Lockers to create workspace storage solutions for their new office. They worked together with Hollman’s sales and design teams to develop a functional and flexible workspace.

Siemens has been adapting to the open-concept workspace throughout the years. In an article from 2012 about their new Orlando office, Siemens branded the term, NewWOW. Short for “New Way of Working,” the design allowed the company to trade the traditional office culture for added collaboration as it downsized its quarters. Based on the “hotel concept,” which lets employees move among desks equipped with phones and computers, the New Way of Working goes further by providing both computing power and phone service via portable laptops. It also includes workspace lockers. The lockers allow employees to stash their belongings when they’re not using them.

CHALLENGE

Siemens headquarters’ team laid out their goals for their new workspace. Firstly, they wanted their lockers to have a few pops of color. Secondly, to allow employees to move around freely. Thirdly, to offer a lock system that wouldn’t require a key or code.

SOLUTION + BENEFIT

Siemens headquarters got a high-quality product with all of the features they wanted with Hollman’s workspace lockers’ help. Hollman assembled lockers with multi-colored laminate doors. Popular colors such as red, yellow, blue, green, orange, and more add a tasteful hint of color to the white lockers. The team went with a laminate interior for a clean finishing touch.

There is a mix of two-tier and four-tier lockers. Both are the same dimensions of 15W x 24D x 72H, which provides employees with plenty of space to store their belongings. In turn, the lockers allow employees to move around freely throughout the office.

Hollman also installed a Vecos lock system on the lockers. Vecos is a smart lock that allows users to access their locker through an app on their phones. Most importantly, no keys or combination codes are required to get into their lockers. As a result, the smart locks are extremely user-friendly.

RESULTS

In conclusion, Hollman’s workspace lockers were the perfect solution to fit Siemens headquarters office needs. Siemens headquarters workspace lockers feature a touchless security solution provided by Vecos and a flexible storage solution provided by Hollman.

Project Insights: Expedia – Seattle Campus’ Workspace Storage Solutions

Expedia’s Office Of The Future with Hollman Workspace Lockers

“Nature is in, but assigned seating is out. Archana Singh, Expedia’s chief people officer, said employees had dedicated desks at the old office. In the new space, workers are assigned what are known as neighborhoods and generally take a seat wherever.” workspace storage solution

        INTRODUCTION

Expedia wanted their workspace to make a “cultural shift” from cluttered desks to open space for team collaboration. As a result, they partnered with Hollman lockers for a workspace storage solution.

        CHALLENGE

The goal — for a travel company, after all — is to have consistency across its locations around the world. This way employees have the same tech and workspace experience in Seattle, Austin, London, India, and elsewhere.

        SOLUTION + BENEFIT

With the help of Hollman’s workspace lockers, the team at Expedia was able to achieve their goals. Hollman assembled two-tier, model b lockers 18W x 18Dx 36H for their office. Further, they provided four-tier, model d lockers, 18W x 18D x 72H, for their fitness center.

The team chose a premium high gloss laminate by Formica to finish the lockers and integrated Gantner RFID smart locks. The RFID locks are a simple solution for employees to access their locker with a badge that scans and opens their lockers.

        RESULTS

The ZGF-designed Expedia Group corporate headquarters was featured in a recent Wall Street Journal article looking at the “office of the future”—Wi-Fi-equipped rocks, fire pits, and all.

The team at Expedia wanted to make sure their change from traditional desk pods to the modern, hotel desk concept be easy for their employees. They also wanted to create a unified, consistent workspace for all of its locations around the world. Hollman’s workspace lockers met Expedia’s goals and expectations.

“We found that initially, it is an adjustment for people, but once you’re used to the other benefits that you get from how you can collaborate and how you can go to a quiet space…we found that the challenges that people had gone away,” Burgess said.

Their smart lockers make it easy for their employees to move about freely through the office. Thus allowing them to not have to worry about the safety of their personal belongings. The modern locker design also compliments all of their offices.

Project Insights: Equinox Fitness Locker Room

Discover Equinox, the ultimate, upscale fitness facility with Hollman Fitness Lockers

Equinox wanted their locker room to reflect the state-of-the-art amenities their studio provides.

San Franciscans will be able to see why Equinox takes top-billing as an upscale fitness and high performance lifestyle leader, when the company opens its 4th Northern California location today. The club is conveniently located on Union Street in the heart of the Cow Hollow neighborhood, in the landmarked Metro Theater built in 1929.

“There has been a huge demand for innovative, upscale fitness facilities in areas that are under-served,” says John Klein, SVP of Real Estate for Equinox. “We are particularly excited about this location’s adaptive re-use of the historic Metro Theater, which continues our tradition of developing locally inspired clubs within iconic properties.” Their first bay area location, Equinox Pine Street, occupies the former Pacific Stock Exchange. Klein continues, “For more than six years, we worked with the City Planning Department and local historic preservationists to transform this landmark into a welcome addition to the community.”

“Along with the award winning firm AvroKo, the Equinox design team worked to preserve a number of the original Art Deco elements of the historical building, including a restored “Metro” theater marquee and two grand Anthony Heinsbergenmurals which flank the new fitness floor,” says Aaron Richter, Equinox VP of Design. “A member lounge inspired by the theater’s history serves as the heart of the club, while a two story Group Fitness studio now occupies the former main stage.”

                    About Equinox
Equinox operates 66 upscale, full-service clubs in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Boston, Dallas and Washington, DC, as well as international locations in London and Toronto. The company offers an integrated selection of Equinox-branded programs, services and products, including strength and cardio training, studio classes, personal training, spa services and products, apparel and food/juice bars. Since its inception in 1991, Equinox has developed a lifestyle brand that represents service, value, quality, expertise, innovation, attention to detail, market leadership and results.
