Known as Newport’s Best Surf Club: The Board Club, provides a fully stocked surfboard collection for members to rent out, and an additional locker space for members to use in between catching some waves.

Hollman designed The Board Club’s iconic surfboard lockers to store surfboards while remaining able to withstand outdoor elements like water and the sun. Using phenolic material, our lockers are built to withstand wet environments – the perfect hassle-free place for wet boards to dry off.

With their extra height and open-top design, these lockers are tailor-made to accommodate even the longest surfboards. Inside, the width is carefully crafted to provide ample space for a board, alongside room to hang a wetsuit and store board wax on the shelf, ensuring every inch is optimized for surfers’ needs.

Constructed entirely with phenolic material, from the security shelf to the top and bottom bracing, these lockers are built to withstand the challenges of a water-prone environment. Additional strategically placed drainage holes at the bottom prevent any excess water buildup from hanging wetsuits or surfboards, ensuring efficient water drainage and avoiding any standing water accumulation.

Hollman partnered with The University of Maryland to remodel the locker rooms for the women’s lacrosse and field hockey complex, playing a pivotal role in the creation of a newly upgraded state-of-the-art facility recognized as “one of the top facilities in the entire country”.

The locker rooms have a total of 68 lockers, 42 for lacrosse and 26 for field hockey, offering storage in style that highlights Maryland’s high-profile branding. Each locker is designed to accommodate the unique needs of athletes providing space for equipment, uniforms, and personal belongings. From custom-built storage compartments to branded accessories, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.

One standout feature is the incorporation of a custom-actuated-integrated lighting package. This two-tone lighting setup is complemented by seamlessly integrated ambient lighting, enhancing both the aesthetics of the space and simplifying coordination. Another notable feature is the backlit lift-up storage compartment, serving a dual purpose to both store equipment and display player graphics.

The lockers showcase a custom-mounted logo, meticulously split down the middle and seamlessly integrated into the double doors. Incorporating the iconic Maryland logo not only enhances the locker room’s aesthetic appeal but also embodies team spirit. Paired with the two-tone lighting, the Maryland logo stands out, adding a dynamic focal point to the space.

While Maryland’s lockers were custom-designed to meet specific needs, they bear a striking resemblance to Hollman’s Elevate+ Series. DALLAS, TEXAS (June 1, 2023) –The Family Place – Texas’ largest family violence service agency now in its 45th year – announces actress, model and author Brooke Shields as the featured speaker for the 2023 Trailblazer Awards Luncheon on Friday, September 29, at the Hilton Anatole.

In addition to Shields as keynote speaker, event leadership includes Lindsay Jacaman and Holly Krug as luncheon co-chairs, and Stephanie and Travis Hollman as honorary chairs.

Jacaman, a global client director for LinkedIn, and Krug, a global real estate advisor at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International, are passionate supporters of Dallas’ non-profit community, including The Family Place, where they both serve as members of its board of directors.

Dedicated to philanthropy and entrepreneurship, honorary chairs Stephanie and Travis Hollman have devoted their lives to making a positive impact on others. Stephanie is the founder and chief giving officer of the Hollman Family Foundation, which has supported numerous organizations since its inception in 2020, including providing over 400 nights of shelter for women at The Family Place. Additionally, as CEO of Hollman, Inc., Travis has always put purpose over profit by being a source for greater good for the local community. Stephanie and Travis, who have been married more than 15 years and have two sons, are both actively involved with many Dallas charities. 

“We are honored to have such a strong leadership team at the helm of this year’s Texas Trailblazer Awards luncheon. Shields’ legendary career began early in her childhood, as she was the youngest fashion model ever to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine at 14 years old. Her venture into film and television garnered her a Golden Globe nomination and five People’s Choice Awards. In addition to continued success on screen, she has since become a best-selling author and created an apparel and accessories line called Brooke Shields Timeless. 

In 2021, Shields founded “Beginning is Now,” a growing global community of women of all ages finding strength, wisdom, optimism, humor, and so much more in each other, all while learning to live their fullest lives — on their own terms, followed by the launch of her own podcast in 2022 with iHeart. “Now What? with Brooke Shields” dives deep into the world of redos, resets, and forward fails: from career pivots and personal missteps to moving through grief (or just plain moving on). In April 2023, Hulu released the documentary “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields,” which explores Shields’ journey from a sexualized young girl to a Princeton graduate, mother, and advocate who has embraced her identity and voice. In her personal time, Shields is an advocate for women and the arts and serves on the board of WIN, an organization dedicated to providing housing, services and programs to homeless women and children in New York City. She is the happily married mother of two beautiful daughters. 

The Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon is the largest fundraising event for The Family Place. Proceeds from the luncheon allow The Family Place to continue empowering survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence, while building community engagement and helping families progress from fear to safety. 

THE FAMILY PLACE For 45 years, The Family Place has served the North Texas community by bringing brighter futures to survivors of family violence. The Family Place is the largest provider of family violence services in Texas, serving nearly 20,000 people in 2022. Programs include a 24-hour hotline, three emergency shelters, including the state’s only shelter for men and their children, a transitional housing program with 25 apartments, three counseling centers, two medical clinics, a dental clinic, Dignity at Work job readiness program, Be Project sexual assault and teen dating violence prevention education for schools, Faith and Liberty’s Place court-ordered supervised visitation, Battering Intervention and Prevention Program court-ordered counseling for abusers, and legal services.
