Project Insights: New York Mets Baseball Locker Room

According to the NY Post, “The 2020 Mets have the best facility the team has ever had”.

The New York Mets have a new spring training facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida. “We worked really hard to make this right,’’ Mets COO Jeff Wilpon told The Post […] “We made sure to give the fans a lot of new amenities that put them closer and more in touch with the ballplayers, but we also gave the ballplayers and the performance staff everything they need to have a championship team.’’

This redesigned facility has all the bells and whistles players want and need. Essentially, there are no excuses now. Everything is at the New York Mets player’s fingertips and the staff has everything needed to perform.

As for the players, they have never seen anything here in the past like these amenities, including a new kitchen and dining area. Most impressive is the New York Mets new major league clubhouse, which appears to be bigger than their clubhouse at Citi Field.

Project Insights: Expedia – Seattle Campus’ Workspace Storage Solutions

Expedia’s Office Of The Future with Hollman Workspace Lockers

“Nature is in, but assigned seating is out. Archana Singh, Expedia’s chief people officer, said employees had dedicated desks at the old office. In the new space, workers are assigned what are known as neighborhoods and generally take a seat wherever.” workspace storage solution

        INTRODUCTION

Expedia wanted their workspace to make a “cultural shift” from cluttered desks to open space for team collaboration. As a result, they partnered with Hollman lockers for a workspace storage solution.

        CHALLENGE

The goal — for a travel company, after all — is to have consistency across its locations around the world. This way employees have the same tech and workspace experience in Seattle, Austin, London, India, and elsewhere.

        SOLUTION + BENEFIT

With the help of Hollman’s workspace lockers, the team at Expedia was able to achieve their goals. Hollman assembled two-tier, model b lockers 18W x 18Dx 36H for their office. Further, they provided four-tier, model d lockers, 18W x 18D x 72H, for their fitness center.

The team chose a premium high gloss laminate by Formica to finish the lockers and integrated Gantner RFID smart locks. The RFID locks are a simple solution for employees to access their locker with a badge that scans and opens their lockers.

        RESULTS

The ZGF-designed Expedia Group corporate headquarters was featured in a recent Wall Street Journal article looking at the “office of the future”—Wi-Fi-equipped rocks, fire pits, and all.

The team at Expedia wanted to make sure their change from traditional desk pods to the modern, hotel desk concept be easy for their employees. They also wanted to create a unified, consistent workspace for all of its locations around the world. Hollman’s workspace lockers met Expedia’s goals and expectations.

“We found that initially, it is an adjustment for people, but once you’re used to the other benefits that you get from how you can collaborate and how you can go to a quiet space…we found that the challenges that people had gone away,” Burgess said.

Their smart lockers make it easy for their employees to move about freely through the office. Thus allowing them to not have to worry about the safety of their personal belongings. The modern locker design also compliments all of their offices.

Project Insights: WeWork SOMA Coworking Storage Solutions

WeWork’s collaborative co-working space with Hollman Workspace Lockers

Co-working spaces of WeWork have truly have changed the way employers and entrepreneurs manage their productivity. They are known to increase creativity, improve productivity, and create networking and collaborative opportunities. One of the difficulties of a shared and open workspace is the storage and security of personal belongings.

Surrounded by the headquarters of Uber and Square and corporate offices of Twitter and Microsoft, the WeWork SOMA co-working space is in a perfect location to grow any business as it is compromised of art-filled lounges, private offices, and conference rooms. This shared workspace was set to be an ideal place for attracting talent and creating innovative projects but lacked designated storage for their variety of users. The design team at WeWork needed a storage solution that wouldn’t affect their flexible workspace environment but would give their customers a safe place to keep personal items.

The storage solution Hollman Lockers provided was built for seamless integration with their walkways throughout the office space. Their workspace lockers included a combination of single-tier Model A and double-tier Model B lockers, both measuring 15″W x 20″D x 26″H. The WeWork design team chose an exterior laminate finish of Spectrum Blue from Formica paired with Gantner RFID network locks.

WeWork’s workspace lockers provide the best solution for their customers to safely and conveniently store their personal belongings. The lockers were designed to be integrated with their open seating areas to maximize their space utilization. The high-tech Gantner locks provide a sleek appearance and enhanced user-experience for the WeWork members. In addition to increased functionality, these credenza-style lockers effortlessly fit with the aesthetic of the WeWork interior space.

                    Hollman Debuts New Phenolic Lockers

Hollman, the largest locker manufacturer in the country, is now bringing their forty years of locker-building experience to the Phenolic Locker market. Phenolic Lockers are typically called for in projects including aquatic centers and recreation centers – locations where rugged use and high levels of moisture are anticipated. Hollman takes this a step further, introducing Phenolic Lockers that are as attractive as they are strong.

“If we do anything, we just want to do it better. When we design something, we always do it with the customer in mind. This market demands durability, but they still want lockers to look attractive,” said Sue Hwang, Hollman’s Executive Vice President.
