Project Insights: Clemson University – Men’s Basketball Locker Room

Clemson University Men’s Basketball new locker room is “next level” with the help of Hollman, Inc.

Following their 2020-21 season, Clemson University Men’s Basketball team got the renovation they needed to enhance their student-athlete experience. Clemson’s Associate AD of Facilities Management and Capital Projects, Eric Sabin, took on the task by contacting Hollman, Inc. with the intention of redesigning their player’s second home.

Clemson came to Hollman wanting to improve accessibility, automation, and layout. The redesign’s goal was to maximize space, integrate technology, and maintain continuity with the other facilities on campus.

With growth in mind, a refined look was wanted for the locker room to attract recruits. The previous locker room had open-faced lockers that exposed all the player’s belongings. With a lack of storage options and with prospects in mind, Hollman stepped in to help resolve their problems.

The new locker room features include customized Clemson emblems including the term “Grit” inspired by Coach Brownell, UV printed paw handles, LCD displays with cloud-based drivers, and an anti-microbial design.

The lockers were built with edge-lit floating acrylic shelves, interior personal storage, and a ventilated shoe drawer to maximize storage. Technology advancements include wireless charging and personalized LCD displays providing information to let players stay updated with schedules, statistics, weather, and more.

“This place is sweet man. It’s definitely a nice treat,” exclaims PJ Hall at the teams locker room reveal.

The result was a locker room providing all necessary storage and premium technology desired. With the project completed, Clemson’s basketball team got the revamp needed to keep the program satisfied for years to come.
