Project Insights: West Virginia University Football Locker Room

With the help of Hollman Athletic Lockers, “the guys love the lockers”

“Their lockers are absolutely huge,” Patrick Johnston, director of football operations, added.
“They are 42 inches wide with tons of storage space.”

Earlier this month the team at West Virginia University unveiled their new facility at Mountaineer Field. This locker room renovation was all a part of WVU’s Climbing Higher campaign and transformed their previous 5,625 square feet space to 11,125 square feet.

“The result is a spacious place and lavish lockers that feature wireless cell phone chargers, a lockable compartment with an internal charging port, a stainless steel shoe and glove display drawer, a stainless steel helmet shelf, a backlit individual upper nameplate that includes a picture of the player and a listing of his jersey number, position and hometown, a clothing rod for game day apparel, a hook for the uniform and additional storage in an upper cabinet and a lower drawer.”

“The guys love the lockers,” said head coach, Neal Brown. “They’re spacious. They’ve got their own chargers, their own plugs, their hometown and their picture up above them and the music and video boards throughout are impressive.” (247sports.com)

“What’s even more impressive is the fact that enough room was carved out for former Mountaineer players now playing in the NFL who regularly return to campus during the offseason to work out with strength and conditioning coach Mike Joseph.” (wvusports.com)

A few West Virgina football alumni, Stedman Bailey Sr, former WVU wide receiver, and Daryl Worley, former WVU and current Dallas Cowboys cornerback, took notice of the locker room renovation:

Wow! Just wow. I don’t even recognize the locker room space. But this is amazing. Love it https://t.co/ckvQ8XNBNf

Project Insights: The University of Alabama Football Locker Room

These lockers are built for making a lasting impression and are durable enough for the celebrations to come thanks to Hollman Athletic Lockers

Alabama wanted a locker that highlighted their Bama pride while keeping the wellness of their athletes first. Hollman chose to incorporate solid-surface material throughout the locker design for a modern look while preventing the growth of bacteria and mold. Also, with specially engineered forced air-drying technology integrated throughout the locker, Alabama is able to increase equipment and shoe drying time.

The players recovery in between practice and post-game played an important role on the decision to incorporate an oversized leather recliner with a customized embroidered “A” logo next to an easy to access wireless charger and stainless-steel cup holder.

To maximize space and keep the locker functional, Hollman added a stainless-steel rollup door for concealed storage. Additional add-ins, like the interchangeable magnetic custom player’s graphic with illuminated LED lights, adds a personalized touch.  There’s no question; these lockers are built for making a lasting impression and are durable enough for the celebrations to come.

Nick Saban goes all out for the University of Alabama on the football field, but Greg Byrne shows his loyalty toward the program behind the scenes.

In his fourth season as an athletic director, he is providing the fans and student-athletes with a much more appealing Bryant-Denny Stadium for home games. When it comes to the players, the renovations started with the locker room, part of a $16 million upgrade to the Mal Moore Center.

Texas A&M Football Locker Room Exclusive By USA Today

When the Texas A&M football team arrived at fall camp Thursday, they had a nice surprise waiting for them: a brand new Texas A&M football locker room.

The Bright Complex, the home of the Aggies football program, is undergoing a massive renovation that in total, is a $20.8 million project. The team areas alone, which include the Texas A&M football locker rooms, hallways, meeting rooms, sports medicine facility and hydrotherapy pool for example, cost $16.8 million. This is in addition to the Kyle Field renovations, a $450 million campaign that is expected to be completed in 2015.

Some cool features include a private barbershop (something that seems to be all the rage in new football facilities these days), HDTVs mounted inside the walls around the hydrotherapy pool, and LED screens above each locker that displays information about that particular player.
